Minebea Intec presents new weighing and inspection solutions at FACHPACK 2024 Maximum product safety and efficiency
Minebea Intec, a leading manufacturer of industrial weighing and inspection technologies, will be presenting its latest innovations at this year's FACHPACK from 24 to 26 September in Nuremberg, a European trade fair for packaging, technology and processes. In Hall 3C, Stand 266, the company will be demonstrating how its technologies can increase the efficiency and precision of packaging processes. Weighing and inspection solutions play a crucial role in the packaging industry by ensuring product quality, minimising production errors and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. A particular highlight of the trade fair presentation is the new Blue HMI for checkweighers.
The new Blue HMI for dynamic checkweighers will take centre stage at Minebea Intec's trade fair appearance. This advanced user interface, which can be viewed live on the established checkweigher Flexus® , offers numerous smart features to increase efficiency. "Our Blue HMI is characterised by intuitive user guidance and is therefore extremely user-friendly," says Lars-Henrik Bierwirth, Global Product Manager at Minebea Intec. "The operating unit displays the overall system effectiveness and other statistics based on the current weighing results. It also has various logging functions that make it ideal for audits." As checkweighers are often located at the end of a production line, the integrated overall equipment effectiveness provides a clear overview of the efficiency of the production line as a whole.
The new Blue HMI also offers Minebea Intec customers even more flexibility thanks to a wide range of interfaces. The new user interface enables improved connectivity by equipping the checkweighers with flexible interfaces such as industrial fieldbuses, Ethernet/IP, Profinet or the company's own SPC@Enterprise. OPC UA is fully integrated in accordance with the specification (Companion Specification Weighing) and is optionally on board. The interface can also be extended to include the PackML specification (Companion Specification PackML according to OMAC).
Mitus metal detector® with MiWave technology
In addition to the Blue HMI, the new Mitus® metal detector will be presented, which is equipped with the revolutionary MiWave technology. This technology enables flexible and precise detection of metal contaminants in products of all kinds. The Mitus® metal detector offers outstanding sensitivity and stability, making it the ideal solution for demanding inspection tasks in the packaging industry. The advanced signal processing means that even the smallest metal particles can be reliably detected, even with high product effects, further increasing product safety and quality.
Pioneering industrial scales and load cells
The new MiNexx® 3000 weighing platforms from Minebea Intec set new standards on the market with their innovative V-shaped design. This design enables increased weighing accuracy while providing excellent protection for the load cell. "Our MiNexx® 3000 weighing platforms are durable, robust and capable of withstanding the most demanding industrial environments," says Nils Hubrich, Global Product Manager at Minebea Intec. "They offer a variety of configuration options and can be adapted to a wide range of industrial applications." In the packaging industry, for example, they enable the precise weighing of materials, whether for filling, packaging or product quality control.
Another highlight is the weighing module Novego® , which was specially developed for the high demands of the food and pharmaceutical industries. Novego® impresses with its hygienic design, which enables simple, error-free installation and maximum resistance to lateral forces. The exceptional corrosion resistance of the stainless steel and the product design in accordance with EHEDG guidelines make the weighing module Novego® insensitive to dirt, water and aggressive cleaning agents. With Novego® , companies opt for fast, precise and hygienic installation without additional, time-consuming alignment work.
